Psalm 21
God helps His people in times of trouble
Intro
√ A psalm of praise!
Psalm 20 was David's prayer for God's help before he went into battle.
Psalm 21 is David's praise after God gave him victory!
Ap. Be quick to give Him thanks!
Too often we are quick to ask God for help, but slow to give Him thanks!
Ex. The 10 lepers - Luke 17:11-19
Ap. Christians in the

Home with running water, power, and toilets!
Health care

Freedom from fear! We
live in the freest society in the history of

We can hear the Word 24/7
Chose from thousands of churches
Own our own Bible!
God & the king (vs. 1-7)
√ God answered the kings prayer!
Gave David strength to fight & win the battle (vs. 1 & 2)
Protected David's life (vs. 4)
Gave David honor and majesty from the victory (vs. 5)
Ap. Thank God when He answers your prayers!
Have you been delivered from a life-dominating sin?
Has Jesus delivered you from a mess you made in your life?
Don't make the mistake of taking the credit for the victory that He gave you!
Ex.
God & the enemy (vs. 8-12)
√ God used David to fight His battles
The enemies that David fought were also God's enemies! They attacked His people
David prayed that God would deliver him and the nation from these enemies - God's answer came through David!
David fought the Lord's battles!
Ap. Are you the answer to your own prayers?
Ex. When you see a need - be prepared to be the one whom God chooses to meet that need!
God & the nation (vs. 13)
√ Note "we"
Even as the whole nation gathered together with David in Psalm 20 to pray to God for deliverance…
…so the whole nation gathered with David to give God thanks for the victory.
Ap. Praising God together
It's important that we praise the Lord in our individual lives, but it is also important that we gather together to praise Him as a congregation.
Ex. Protects us from isolation
God has called Christians to work together as a Body. When we fight the Lord's battles together and then praise Him together the Lord binds our hearts together.
Satan works to separate us from one another, the Holy Spirit works to put us together.
