Lord of the Sabbath

📖 Scripture: Matthew 12:1-8

We continue from Matthew 11 as Jesus calls all who are weary to come to Him for true rest. When the Pharisees accuse the disciples of breaking the Sabbath, Jesus exposes the gap between religious tradition and the heart of God’s law. From David and the showbread to the priests serving in the temple, Scripture reveals the Sabbath as a gift, not a burden, made for man and rooted in mercy. Jesus declares what the religious leaders miss. He is greater than the temple and Lord of the Sabbath, inviting us out of fear and bondage and into freedom, peace, and rest found only in Him.
