Faith that Transcends

📖 Scripture: Matthew 8:5–13

Matthew 8 reveals Jesus’ divine authority through two powerful encounters: the healing of a leper and the faith of a Roman centurion. The leper’s cleansing shows Jesus’ compassion to touch the untouchable, while the centurion’s plea—“Lord, only speak a word, and my servant will be healed”—shows faith that transcends religion, race, and distance. This Gentile soldier recognized what many in Israel missed: that Jesus’ word alone carries power over all creation.  

Through these stories, Matthew reminds us that faith, not heritage, grants access to the Kingdom of God. Jesus came for all who believe, and even a mustard seed of faith can move mountains.
